Operations Technician / Process Operator at St1 Refinery in Gothenburg

As an operations technician at a refinery, you will work in a dynamic and varied environment, with technical development and collaboration, while contributing to our energy transition. The work involves continuous shift work, meaning you will work at different times of the day, including nights and weekends, to ensure that the refinery is always operational. You will become an important part of one of our five well-coordinated shift teams, where each team works closely together to maintain high standards and efficiency in production.

Responsibilities

As an operations technician at St1 refinery, you will play a central role in ensuring that our processes and systems operate efficiently and safely.

Your tasks will be varied and include:

• Monitoring and control: You will monitor and control our automated process plants and equipment via advanced data screens and control systems. This includes adjusting settings to optimize production and ensure high quality.
• Inspections and rounds: You will perform regular inspections and rounds of facilities to ensure functionality and detect deviations in time.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving: You will troubleshoot and resolve operational disturbances and technical issues, both practically and analytically.
• Maintenance and repair: You will be responsible for regular maintenance and repairs of machines and equipment to prevent operational disturbances.
• Safety work: Safety is crucial, and you will actively participate in safety work, follow and improve routines and guidelines, and prevent accidents and minimize risks.
• Documentation and reporting: You will document tasks and results, as well as report to superiors. This includes notes on process changes, maintenance, and incidents.
• Collaboration and communication: You will work closely with operations technicians, process engineers, and maintenance technicians for smooth and efficient operations. Good communication and collaboration are key to success in this role.

Qualifications and experience:

We are looking for someone with a technical education (e.g., chemical engineer, marine engineer, machine officer, or vocational training) or equivalent competence through work experience. You have previous experience from similar process industries and are accustomed to shift work. To ensure safety and efficiency in our operations, it is necessary that you are proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written. This requirement is based on the fact that clear and correct communication is crucial for preventing and managing safety-related situations. Additionally, a driver's license (B) is required.
